The CC Robotics teams embrace our responsibility as STEM leaders through dynamic outreach programs that serve our community. Our signature initiatives include:
Robots at Recess
We bring the excitement of robotics directly to K-8 schools, transforming gymnasiums into interactive robotics demonstrations. Students experience hands-on robot operation while our team members share their knowledge and enthusiasm. Through this program, we’re helping establish new robotics programs in schools across our community.
Open Shop
In our new George and Mary Turek Hall of Science, we welcome fellow robotics teams to use our full-size competition field, machine shop, and mentor expertise. These events strengthen the robotics community through collaboration and shared resources.
Test & Tune
A series of pre-competition full-field scrimmage and calibration events for up to six robots. Teams will have access to a fully functional FRC field, FMS (Cheesy Arena), and our machine shop to fine-tune their robots before competition. We are proud to provide opportunities for coopertition and gracious professionalism!
Robot Camp
Each summer, our students guide young learners aged 11-17 through hands-on robotics experiences. This program not only introduces STEM concepts to future innovators but develops our team members’ leadership abilities.
Service Projects
Our commitment to community service includes:
- PB&J outreach to Detroit’s homeless community
- Creating comfort items for long-term hospital patients
- “I care a bot you” Valentine’s program for hospitalized children
Through these initiatives, CC Robotics students put into practice the principles of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge while making STEM education accessible and engaging for all.
